Chester from Linkin Park tweets. Screw it, I’m joining Twitter!

Time to Tweet!

Time to Tweet!

So I just joined twitter today and I’m amazed at how cool it can be. Reading updates from people/organizations that really interest me is something  I can’t continue to pass up. Twitter’s really different from the social networking crap I stay away from. New information that I’m really interested in can pop up at any moment and that’s pretty cool. I agree with the twitter home page when it says: “Twitter really puts you in control and becomes a modern antidote to information overload.”

The one thing that probably convinced me to join was Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington, who recently joined twitter, tweeting about the new Linkin Park song to be used as the theme for Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. The new song’s entitled New Divide and It’’s out on May 18th!

Twitter’s good, isn’t it?

Movies in May

WOW

WOW

May will bring 2 movies that I’m looking forward to seeing, X-men Origins: Wolverine, and Terminator: Salvation. I’m pretty excited to see both, but I’m more excited to see the latter, since I’m a big Terminator fan. Terminator Salvation is my most anticipated movie of the year! Christian Bale fighting machines and cyborgs? what geek in his right mind wouldn’t want to see that?

As for the Wolverine movie, I still haven’t watched it. An unfinished copy leaked online several weeks before the May 1st release date but I didn’t even think about downloading it. I don’t want to see an unfinished version of the film. I’ve always liked the Wolverine character in the X-men comics and cartoons of the 90s so the new X movie surely has me interested.

I’ll probably see both movies with my entire family since my mom loves Hugh jackman and (get this), is a long time fan of the Terminator Franchise! She once told me a story about watching the first Terminator film in 1984 while she was still in college. Three words, BEST MOM EVER. My younger brother likes most of the things that I like and that includes X-men and Terminator. And my dad? Let’s just say he loves ass kicking in super-hero and sci-fi films.

Expect a review of the 2 films a few days after I see them! Again, X-men Origins is out on May 1st while Terminator Salvation  hits theaters on May 21st.

Yes is the new No

The last 7 days saw me smiling a bit more. Who knew spending this much time with her would be fun. Taking blurred photographs, losing something we weren’t supposed to lose, getting broke, “talking”, even Friday the 13th didn’t suck so bad because of her (i still lost some keys though). To end this week with a rock concert, with her no less.  It feels pretty fucking different. And I mean different in a very good way.

Happy Valentines Day nerds.

20th December: A Christmas Rock Album

December…it makes me shiver in the cold. That could only mean two things, first, it’s Christmas time again. Second, I’m turning another year older. To celebrate both, i decided to do something I’ve been thinking about doing for quite some time…A Christmas Rock album. Sure, it has been done many times before but most of those albums are too genre specific. I made a Christmas Rock album that has something for everyone, From punk, alternative, electronic, to even metal. Some Bands/Artists in the album, I’m very familiar with. Some, I haven’t even heard of prior to selecting tracks for the album. The album is composed of covers of classics Christmas songs and original compositions. The compilation album’s called 20th December: A Christmas Rock Album. The title’s a reference to my age and also to how many Decembers I’ve gone through (which is pretty redundant when you think about it but what the hell). Anyway, here’s the Track list for the album:

01 I won’t be home for X-mas – Blink 182
02 Snowed Under – Keane
03 Christmas Time (Dont Let The Bells End) – The Darkness
04 Have Yourself a Merry little Christmas (live) – Coldplay
05 Winter Wonderland – Phantom Planet
06 Christmas with the devil – Spinal Tap
07 Carol of the Bells – Thrice
08 Twelve Days of Christmas (Christmas is for the birds) – Taking Back Sunday
09 White Christmas – Bright Eyes
10 Great Big Sled – The Killers
11 Christmas song – Weezer
12 All I Want for Christmas is You – My Chemical Romance
13 Happy Christmas (War is Over) – John Lennon
14 Feed the World (Do They Know It’s Christmas) – Far feat. Chino Moreno of the Deftones
15 Do You hear what I hear – Copeland
16 The Lights And Buzz – Jack’s Manequin
17 I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause – Twisted Sister
18 You’re The One I Miss (This Christmas) – MXPX
19 No Presents for Christmas – King Diamond
20 My December (live-2008) – Linkin Park

20 tracks, 20 Decembers. Sounds a bit cheesy I know, but Christmas always is. Check out these bands if you like but download the album first and tell me what you think! Merry Christmas!

New semester…

November 12, 2008 gmc01 Leave a comment

Wow, I’m a bit surprised about how much traffic the site has received lately. Probably because of a forum post I posted recently. I seem a little arrogant but they guy I burned was real dumbass when it comes to the NBA and basketball. (He owns the forums too)

Anyway, it’s the start of a new semester and I’m already feeling the pressure of late nights, too much work and stuff that i want to do and not too much time. That also means less time to manage and add content to my blog. But it’s not like everyone’s looking for something new in here. I’m still wondering about what to do with the media section, or if I should scrap the Idea entirely.

I also got drunk last night after drinking with 3 of my friends. It’s not a very good feeling to throw up 2 or 3 times. So much for my “I won’t drink this semester” mentality.
